COMMITMENT TO RESPONSIBLE SOURCING / NOTES ON OUR SOFTGOODS
We have committed to sourcing our softgoods from manufacturers that adhere to as many of the below principals as possible:
1. Provide livable wages and guarantee safe working conditions for their employees and workers throughout their supply chain.
2. Pledge to reduce their environmental impact through their production process.
3. When applicable, recognize and operate alongside labor unions within their production process in good faith. Currently, we offer 2 shirts (Bayside 2905 + Lifewear 5407) and 1 sweater (Lifewear 508CNS) on certain designs that are Union Made from start to finish.
4. Source as much of their raw materials from the US as responsibly as possible.
We have priced our items according to this commitment, as well as processing fees inherent to online selling. That said, please reach out if you would like to have access to sliding scale pricing or alternative payment options that may reduce costs on our end. We operate on a not-for-profit model, where any profits are put towards operational costs for the band (recording, touring, etc.)
Additionally, we design, print, and ship all softgoods ourselves out of El Monte, CA (If we can't print, we'll have Sammy of Footwork Coffee Service help!). We use phthalate free ink when possible and dispose of inks/excess materials responsibly. After printing, we treat our shirts with a heat press machine which yields a softer feeling print. All orders are then shipped in compostable and/or recycled mailers as available.
While we recognize there can be many unintended consequences playing music and touring can bring about, how we source our softgoods and printing them ourselves is one thing we can take control over. Our hope is to encourage others to demand better from their day to day purchases, ultimately pressuring manufacturers to address flaws in their production chains that put both people and the environment at risk. At the very least, we are proud to guarentee to anyone that purchases from us (whether it's online or at the merch table) that they are walking away with something that is of the best quality possible.
